A decidedly not child-friendly version

In 2026, Winnie the Pooh will turn 100 years old: the first book with his adventures, created by Alan Alexander Milne, was published in October 1926. This popular hero for little ones became public domain in 2022, so anyone who wants to use him is free to do so: for example, in cinema we saw Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, with a horror characterization far from the original.

The release of Winnie's Hole

Something decidedly dark has also arrived in the video game world: we are talking about Winnie's Hole, a roguelike that is being launched today, January 26, on PC, via Steam, in early access. In Winnie's Hole, the cheerful bear has become a kind of tentacled monster and the other inhabitants of the forest want to get rid of him (understandably). But wait, because the worst is yet to come.

Put a virus in Winnie's body

The player will impersonate… a virus, inside poor Winnie. This virus will have to explore the body and come into contact with various cells, in order to initiate mutations in the bear (if he can still be called that). The mutations will serve to make Winnie stronger, so that he does not succumb in fights with the other inhabitants of the forest. The author of this sick roguelike is the Australian studio Twice Different.
