We Bury the Dead – Trailer for the New Zombie Nightmare
The story takes shape after a military disaster that upends all protocols

Vertical has released the official trailer for We Bury the Dead, announcing that the film will arrive in US theaters on January 2nd. The work marks Daisy Ridley's return in a dramatic and tense role, immersed in a world where zombies evolve.
The story takes shape after a military disaster that upends all protocols: authorities reassure the population, claiming the undead are slow and harmless, but the reality proves to be quite different. Ava, played by Ridley, enters a quarantine zone to search for her missing husband and discovers that the zombies are becoming more aggressive and unpredictable as the hours pass.

Zak Hilditch, known for 1922, wrote and directed the film. The cast also includes Brenton Thwaites, Mark Coles Smith, and Matt Whelan, with production entrusted to Kelvin Munro, Grant Sputore, Ross M. Dinerstein, Joshua Harris, and Mark Fasano.
Hilditch described the project as a deeply personal experience, praising the initial reactions gathered at festivals and showing enthusiasm for its theatrical release. While moving on more dramatic than purely horror coordinates, the director does not shy away from moments of genuine fear, playing with new rules of infection and unsettlingly natural zombies. We will see if this "passing of the torch" in a single story between Romero's slow zombies and Snyder's runners will manage to capture attention in the oversaturated universe of the undead.
