In 2015, the British studio Supermassive Games made a name for itself with Until Dawn, a title featuring an interactive horror adventure formula that has become its trademark. Eleven years later, PlayStation announces the sequel Until Dawn 2, but many things are different, starting with the developer: Firesprite Games, a British first-party Sony studio.
A Dream Tropical Island… or a Nightmare
The setting of the sequel is profoundly different from that of the first game: it moves from a mountain cabin to an idyllic tropical island. A self-proclaimed group of ghost hunters arrives at this dream location, intending to produce a television show. However, this earthly paradise will soon turn into hell, and the hunters will become the prey of a killer…
Where and When Until Dawn 2 Will Be Released
The trailer doesn't reveal much about the gameplay, but being Until Dawn, it's reasonable to expect a strong emphasis on narrative and the choices to be made, which will determine the characters' fates. Until Dawn 2 will be released in 2027 and is expected to be an absolute exclusive for PlayStation 5.
