Pixar is changing one of the historical rules of Toy Story. In the fifth chapter of the saga, arriving in cinemas in Italy on June 17, 2026, Bullseye — Woody's loyal horse — will speak for the first time. Voicing him in the original will be Alan Cumming, who will portray a version of the character described as “evil.”

The actor explained that finding the right tone for Bullseye was more complicated than expected, because the character had never communicated with words in the series' history. According to Cumming, however, the narrative context will make this unusual choice credible.

The new development is part of a plot that will see Woody, Buzz, and Jessie confront Lilypad, a smart tablet designed to entertain Bonnie. The film will therefore focus on the contrast between traditional toys and digital technology, shifting the conflict to a very contemporary ground.

Andrew Stanton returns behind the camera, while the voice cast will once again feature Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, and Keanu Reeves.

The idea of making Bullseye speak might divide long-time fans, but it clearly signals Pixar's desire to renew a formula many considered already concluded with Toy Story 3.
