The Third Age is still far off, but in Middle-earth, chaos is already about to erupt. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will return on November 11, 2026, and the first previews show a much darker direction than in the past.

The new face of Sauron, played by Charlie Vickers, definitively abandons ambiguity and masks: the Dark Lord is now ready to lead the war against elves, dwarves, and men.

The One Ring Becomes the Center of the Story

The new season will feature a time jump of several years to depict a profoundly changed Middle-earth, marked by fragile kingdoms and increasingly unstable alliances. At the center of the plot will finally be the creation of the One Ring, a key event in the universe created by J. R. R. Tolkien.

According to what Prime Video has anticipated, Sauron will have to rebuild his power by relying primarily on political manipulation and corruption, rather than pure military force. Morfydd Clark, Benjamin Walker, and Daniel Weyman will also return to the cast.
