The Operator - Mark Wahlberg in the Netflix action thriller
The same screenwriter will also bring the series Trigger Point with Joel Edgerton

Mark Wahlberg renews his partnership with Netflix and prepares to once again don the action hero mantle. After titles like Spenser Confidential, The Union, and Me Time, the actor will star in The Operator, a new military-themed action thriller for which the platform paid a considerable sum, acquiring the screenplay penned by Harrison Query.
According to Deadline, Wahlberg will play a former Tier One operator who, having left the front lines, works in the shadows as a "cleaner" for the CIA. His world changes when he is ordered to protect the target he hates more than any other. What should be a recovery mission turns into a dangerous game of cat and mouse, where survival is never guaranteed.
New "Black Ops action" for Wahlberg

For Query, this is his second major sale in a few weeks, following the series Trigger Point starring Joel Edgerton, for which he will also serve as showrunner and executive producer.
Wahlberg, always at ease in military or special ops roles — just recall Shooter, Mile 22, or Lone Survivor — thus returns to a narrative territory he knows well. Netflix is clearly banking on him, and hopes that The Operator could mark the beginning of a new franchise. The actor will also produce the film alongside long-time collaborator Stephen Levinson.
