The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel - Bethesda Confirms Official Name
Unfortunately, it seems we won't be seeing it anytime soon
Almost 15 years have passed since November 11, 2011, when Skyrim, the fifth installment in The Elder Scrolls saga, was released. In 2018, the sixth installment was announced, but we had to wait until today to learn anything about it: Bethesda Softworks has confirmed the name and setting of the new title. It will be called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel and will be set in the region of Hammerfell, as was anticipated by this rumor.
So, when is The Elder Scrolls VI coming out?
The trailer officially announcing the game's name shows sands (Hammerfell has the Alik'r desert) and a quote that refers to The Elder Scrolls lore. Bethesda hasn't shown anything else and adds that it will be a while before they are ready to show more… The reason, unfortunately, is that Sentinel might still be far from ready.
According to the usually well-informed Jason Schreier, the game was announced back in 2018 because Bethesda intended to calm spirits after Fallout 76 (and certainly not because there was any intention of releasing it soon), a hypothesis that had also been supported in the past by Bruce Nesmith. According to Schreier, Sentinel will be completed in more than two years: so we will have to wait at least until 2029.
I think a lot of people forget that The Elder Scrolls VI was only announced in 2018 (along with Starfield) to soften the blow of Fallout 76 — "Don't worry, even though we're making a multiplayer game we've got single-player stuff coming too!" Sorry to say this game is still more than 2 years away!
