The Batman - Part II - Scarlett Johansson and Gilda Dent
District Attorney Harvey Dent's wife and her silent despair over the ineffectiveness of the justice system

Scarlett Johansson will join the cast of Matt Reeves's The Batman - Part 2, playing Gilda Dent. The news, unofficial but circulated by multiple sources, indicates an ambitious narrative choice, inspired by the celebrated story arc of the comic book series The Long Halloween.
In the comic, Gilda is the wife of District Attorney Harvey Dent. Her silent despair over the ineffectiveness of the justice system leads her to make extreme choices, inadvertently triggering her husband's transformation into the criminal Two-Face. This aligns the sequel with the psychological and dark tone of the first film.
The character needs to be confirmed

Johansson's casting suggests that Reeves wants to explore the family drama at the villain's origins, rather than opting for an eccentric antagonist. The search for actors for Harvey Dent and his father, Christopher, confirms the intention to dig into the roots of the tragedy.
With Robert Pattinson reprising his role as the superhero, the film confirms itself as a standalone universe, distinct from James Gunn's DCU. The release is scheduled for October 1, 2027, promising a mature and dramatically tense superhero noir, hopefully on par with the previous one.
