Starting today, October 2, one of the most beloved sagas of the famous video game plumber returns: Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be available in a single collection for Nintendo Switch, with a free upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version, where the resolution will reach 4K in TV mode and 1080p in handheld or tabletop mode. An timeless saga, celebrated not only on consoles but also in cinema, with the arrival next April of the second film dedicated to the Mario universe, titled Super Mario Galaxy - The Movie. In eager anticipation of this release, it's time to embark on a cosmic journey in search of Power Stars, overcoming a universe of anti-gravity challenges and facing the formidable Bowser. An unmissable opportunity to relive or experience, for the first time, one of the most beloved video game series ever, with many new features such as updated graphics for both games, an Assist Mode that can be activated at any time, an additional chapter of Rosalina's storybook in Super Mario Galaxy and an entirely new book in Super Mario Galaxy 2, and finally, a soundtrack for both games available from the main menu with a total of 154 tracks.

Super Mario Galaxy, released in 2007 on Wii, is the revolutionary first chapter of this video game duology, as well as Mario's third 3D platformer, preceded by Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. In this galactic adventure, it's the night of the Star Festival and Star Bits are raining from the sky. While all the inhabitants of the Mushroom Kingdom are busy celebrating, Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach along with her castle, lifting it into the sky. Mario finds himself stranded in orbit and is rescued by Luma, a small star who leads him to the Comet Observatory, home of the mysterious Rosalina. From the Observatory, it will be possible to reach various galaxies that will constitute the game levels, and each of these will offer the opportunity to collect Power Stars and Grand Stars essential to continue the adventure and unlock new observatories and scenarios. Relying on Mario's famous jumps, Luma's powers, and special abilities and transformations that can be unlocked during the game, the ultimate goal will be to save Princess Peach from Bowser's clutches by exploring a universe rich in unique settings and challenges.

After the great success of the first chapter, Super Mario Galaxy 2 debuted on Wii in 2010, featuring a new Mario adventure, this time accompanied by Yoshi. On the occasion of a new Star Festival, Mario visits Princess Peach again, finding himself once again having to face a gigantic Bowser who, having kidnapped the princess, heads towards the center of the universe. Relying once again on Luma and aboard a spaceship resembling Mario's head, a new galactic adventure begins for the mustachioed plumber, even richer in galaxies to explore, challenges to face, and new abilities and transformations to learn. Riding Yoshi, it will also be possible to use his tongue to swallow enemies, eat fruits to power up just like Mario, and climb through game levels. Finally, to maximize the fun, both games feature a cooperative game mode that will allow, at any time, to share a Joy-Con or Joy-Con 2 controller with a friend and use motion controls to collect Star Bits and hit enemies.

The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection is available on the My Nintendo Store also in physical format for Nintendo Switch, while a free digital upgrade package is planned for Nintendo Switch 2. The two games can also be purchased individually digitally, both on the My Nintendo Store and on the Nintendo eShop.
