Street Fighter 2026 - Cody Rhodes Reveals Plot Details
Zangief will be played by the colossal Olivier Richters, the villainous Paulie in "Reacher"

New details about the highly anticipated film adaptation of Street Fighter are starting to emerge, this time thanks to Cody Rhodes. The WWE superstar, who will play the legendary Guile in the film, shared some experiences from the set of the project directed by Kitao Sakurai.
The actor and wrestling champion described a surprisingly intense and disciplined environment, almost like a “sports championship,” emphasizing how Sakurai imposed a rigorous approach on the cast for studying characters and choreographies. Rhodes revealed that he saw a preliminary cut of the scenes already shot, a “sizzle reel” that – according to him – motivated him like a true coach's speech.
From the Ashes of the '94 Film, the Saga Rises

Set in 1993, the film will reunite Ryu and Ken within the framework of the World Warrior Tournament, where Chun-Li's arrival will kick off a chain of events that will lead the protagonists to clash with iconic adversaries and the ghosts of the past. Rhodes also hinted at a central moment where numerous characters from the saga appear together, suggesting an important ensemble sequence.
The cast is particularly rich: Andrew Koji (Ryu), Noah Centineo (Ken), Callina Liang (Chun-Li), Roman Reigns (Akuma), David Dastmalchian (M. Bison), 50 Cent (Balrog), Jason Momoa (Blanka), and Olivier Richters (Zangief) are among those who will alternate in a production that promises to combine spectacle, respect for the original material, and a calibrated dose of irony.
Street Fighter will arrive in theaters on October 16, 2026.
