Threatening clouds are gathering over the future of Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. The shooter developed by 1047 Games was resurrected in December, at the culmination of a tumultuous process, which first led the studio to prematurely abandon a promising project like the first Splitgate, then to rebuild the sequel from the ground up. The gaming community's response to these decisions, for now, does not seem to be positive.

Splitgate: Arena Reloaded's Numbers

According to data collected by SteamDB, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded manages to attract about a thousand concurrent users per day: for a free-to-play title, which has also been on the market for less than a month, these are disappointing numbers, indicating an overly restricted user base. The data has led more than one observer to doubt the future of Arena Reloaded, hypothesizing that it will be prematurely cut like other games conceived as a service.

1047 Games' Response

These rumors reached the ears of 1047 Games, who posted their response on Twitter/X, starting the message with an impactful phrase: Steam charts don't measure fun. The studio emphasizes that this is only a partial survey, related to a single platform, which does not show the complete picture nor is it indicative of community engagement. 1047 Games takes the opportunity to renew its commitment to the project and thank the players.
