Spider-Man: Brand New Day: Actor chosen for Tombstone
Born in comics in 1988, the Harlem-raised criminal is (almost) indestructible

While Tom Holland is recovering from a concussion sustained during the filming of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Marvel and Sony's production continues. The latest announcement concerns another important casting: Marvin Jones III will play Tombstone, one of Spider-Man's most formidable enemies.
Born in comics in 1988, the character is Lonnie Lincoln, a criminal raised in Harlem characterized by albinism and superhuman strength obtained through a chemical compound. Ruthless and almost indestructible, Tombstone is not only a physical adversary for Spider-Man, but also an enemy connected to the Daily Bugle and ready to contend for New York's criminal throne with Wilson Fisk.

The choice of Jones III seems perfect: the actor has already lent his voice to Tombstone in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and will do so again in Beyond the Spider-Verse. Now he will have the opportunity to embody him in live-action. Also known for his role as Tobias Whale in Black Lightning, Jones has demonstrated charisma and intensity in portraying high-caliber villains.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi), with a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film brings together a stellar cast: Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink, Florence Pugh, and many others.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026,
