Spider-Man 5 – What Happens After Brand New Day
The audience's response to the emotional component of the story weighs most heavily

The success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day has not yet convinced Sony Pictures to accelerate the next chapter. This was clarified by Ravi Ahuja, President and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, who spoke at the BofA Securities 2026 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference in New York.
Speaking about the results achieved by the film starring Tom Holland, Ahuja particularly highlighted the audience's response to the emotional component of the story, describing the box office result as exceeding the studio's internal expectations.
A new appointment is closer than chapter 5

When the discussion shifted to Spider-Man 5, the tone became decidedly more cautious. “We don't have a date yet,” the executive explained, adding that typically a couple of years can pass between films. In the meantime, Sony is already looking ahead to the next Spider-Man event.
Ahuja indeed recalled that a new Spider-Verse film is scheduled for 2027. For the fifth live-action chapter, further developments will be needed: currently, there is no official date announced by Sony.
However, the result of Brand New Day makes it difficult to imagine that the Studio would give up on Tom Holland and his Peter Parker, leaving the door open for a new chapter.
