Let's talk again about one of the most revered (and least played?) sagas in the video game landscape, which began in the Sega Dreamcast era with two very futuristic chapters for their time: Shenmue. After a long silence, the franchise resumed in 2019 with the third installment, which unfortunately did not live up to expectations. However, Yu Suzuki's ambitious work can still boast loyal supporters, who have loudly demanded the arrival of Shenmue 4. There are "updates" on the matter, so to speak.

A Shenmue 4 Leak, Or Not

A few days ago, a supposed leaked video of Shenmue 4 appeared online. You can watch it here: despite a rather casual use of AI being noticeable to the naked eye, the images are convincing enough to have led more than one observer to believe that it was material actually produced by Ys Net (perhaps to show to investors), containing some anticipations about the future developments of the story.

Ys Net did not take it well at all: through a Twitter/X message, the Japanese company announced that it has nothing to do with the video, which improperly uses logos and intellectual property to mislead people into believing it is an official product. Ys Net reserves the right to take legal action. To date, unfortunately, Shenmue 4 does not exist: however, Ys Net is working on Shenmue III Enhanced, so at least something is moving for the franchise. Better than nothing…
