Screamer: Milestone Explains Gameplay Mechanics
Discover the features of the arcade racing game

The Italian studio Milestone returns to talk about Screamer, the arcade racing game set to debut in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Epic Games Store. The new trailer illustrates in detail the main gameplay mechanics of the title: the basic setup is typical of arcade racers, but there are peculiarities that should distinguish Screamer from the competition.
Screamer Gameplay
Screamer's soul is dedicated to racing and combat: the gameplay mechanics lean towards these two objectives. Racing is characterized by special abilities, such as boost, which can be performed after filling the appropriate bar. It's interesting to note that Milestone intends to reward players who perform actions with proper timing: for example, shifting gears or engaging boost at the right moment results in benefits.
Performing special racing abilities fills another bar, related to combat. The principles of the mechanics are almost the same: abilities can be used after filling the bar enough, and timing is crucial for defending or hitting an opponent. Destroyed cars are not eliminated from the competition but resume the race with a rolling start.
