After sharing the big screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are collaborating again on a project decidedly far from the world of superheroes. Disney+ has announced a new docuseries that will closely follow the adventure of the Bonds Flying Roos, an Australian team competing in the international SailGP championship.

The two actors are among the team owners and will guide the audience on a journey that goes beyond the races, exploring the dynamics and decisions that accompany each event of the championship. The goal is to also show the journey of two famous Hollywood faces grappling with a complex and highly technological discipline.

From Marvel Masks to High-Speed Regattas

The project follows the success of Welcome to Wrexham, the series that chronicled the revival of the Welsh football club purchased by Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. McElhenney himself will also be involved in this new production as an executive producer.

The SailGP represents one of the most spectacular realities of modern sailing: catamarans equipped with foil systems capable of reaching impressive speeds and competitions held in some of the most evocative locations in the world. An ideal context for a series that aims to bring viewers to the heart of the action by closely following the men, challenges, and ambitions that characterize the championship.

The production will be handled by Maximum Effort, Ryan Reynolds' company, along with Eureka Productions, with Brent Hodge in the role of director and showrunner.
