An apparent provincial calm sets the scene for Normal, a neo-western thriller that aims to subvert all expectations. The trailer introduces a Minnesota town where everything seems ordinary, governed by slow and reassuring rhythms. But behind that impeccable facade hides something much darker.

The film will arrive in US theaters on April 17, 2026, distributed by Magnolia Pictures. Ben Wheatley is directing, an author known for his unpredictable and disturbing style, while the screenplay is penned by Derek Kolstad, creator of the John Wick universe.

A Normal Town Transforms into a Battlefield

Bob Odenkirk stars as Sheriff Ulysses. Temporarily assigned to the quiet town of Normal to escape personal problems and moral wounds accumulated in service, he soon finds himself involved in a spiral of deadly violence. A botched robbery attempt shatters the town's equilibrium and unearths a buried secret, revealing a community very different from what it appears.

Alongside Odenkirk, we find Henry Winkler and Lena Headey in key roles, completing a cast that unites iconic faces from film and television. Odenkirk is also involved as a producer alongside Kolstad and Marc Provissiero, with the support of QWGmire.

Normal made its world debut at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025, as part of the Midnight Madness section, immediately confirming its dark and provocative nature. A work to keep an eye on for those who love action-packed thrillers that dig beneath the surface of ordinary America.
