Even before its release, Odyssey by Christopher Nolan has already become a battleground between cinema enthusiasts and purists of Mycenaean Greece. The main target of criticism is the look of Agamemnon, played by Benny Safdie, shown in dark black armor deemed historically inaccurate.

Among the most discussed decisions is also the involvement of Travis Scott in the role of a bard. Nolan explained that he wanted to create a parallel between the oral tradition of Homeric poems and contemporary rap culture, emphasizing how Odyssey originally began as a recited story passed down by word of mouth.

The soundtrack also promises to break new ground: composer Ludwig Göransson reportedly received precise instructions to avoid the classic orchestral approach of historical blockbusters.

The cast also includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, and Lupita Nyong'o. The film is scheduled for release in July 2026 in IMAX 70mm.
