In April 2024, the Austrian studio Moon Studios launched No Rest for the Wicked on PC, in an early access version. The game is a dark fantasy action/RPG, with an isometric view and combat inspired by soulslikes: if you're not familiar with it, you can take a look at the preview we wrote around its release. The project's development has been quite troubled: at one point, Moon Studios left its publisher and was therefore forced to make it on its own, but it succeeded.

When No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 comes out

The end of the early access period had been set for October 2026, but plans have changed. In a video message, Moon Studios boss Thomas Mahler explained that developers need more time to achieve a result that meets their standards, so the launch window for patch 1.0 has been postponed to March 2027. This delay will allow for further testing.

What changes for players

So PC users will have to wait five more months before they can get their hands on the contents of patch 1.0, but anyone who purchases the game before January 1, 2027 will receive the Founder's Pack rewards. As for PlayStation 5, the release is postponed to March 2027 and pre-orders will open in January. We remind you that No Rest for the Wicked will also be released on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, at a later date.
