There's news from the Mass Effect camp, albeit with a decidedly bitter aftertaste. As we reported yesterday, developer BioWare has been shut down by Electronic Arts: the departure of this historic RPG author also led to the cancellation of the project they were working on, which was the fifth main installment in the Mass Effect franchise. Announced in 2020, this video game was in the early stages of production.

In fact, a trailer has leaked, giving us the first real look at the canceled project, made with provisional assets. The video, which you can see on Reddit, reveals what the game's name was supposed to be: Mass Effect Universe. Its veracity has been confirmed.
