George Miller does not seem intent on leaving the desert of Mad Max without a final farewell. According to rumors from the United States, the Australian director is reportedly in talks with several Hollywood Studios to find a new financier willing to support the concluding chapter of his historic creation, after Warner Bros. reportedly decided not to proceed with the project.

The filmmaker's idea is to make one more film for the big screen, accompanied by a television series set in the same narrative universe. Only after completing this final phase would Miller consider the definitive sale of the franchise rights, paving the way for new management of the intellectual property.

The Farewell That Could Change Everything

Warner's position reportedly matured especially after the disappointing box office results of Furiosa, which was positively received by critics but unable to recoup its high production costs. This situation reportedly prompted the director to look around, with giants like Amazon, Universal, and Sony indicated as possible interlocutors.

Also on the table is Mad Max: The Wasteland, a project developed by Miller during the making of Fury Road. However, it remains uncertain who will play the protagonist: the return of Tom Hardy is not ruled out, but the hypothesis of a new face for Max Rockatansky continues to be considered.
