Lanterns: Funko POPs reveal series characters
As in the past, the company has anticipated some key elements
Before the trailer's presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, images of the official Funko POP! line dedicated to Lanterns appeared online. The vinyl figures offer a first look at the DC Studios series' protagonists, showing John Stewart, Hal Jordan, and the main antagonist, Sinestro.
These elements confirm some details that had already emerged in recent months. Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, wears a military green uniform completed by the iconic mask, while Sinestro, entrusted to Ulrich Thomsen, maintains the characteristic purple skin seen in the comics. The character also sports an elegant white suit, a detail that has fueled fan speculation about a possible detention of the villain and a meeting with Hal Jordan to obtain decisive information about a new threat.

The series will debut on August 17 on HBO Max - 8 episodes in total - and will tell the story of Hal Jordan's and young recruit John Stewart's investigation, two Green Lanterns involved in a mystery set in rural America. DC Studios has described the project as a kind of sci-fi True Detective, with an investigation destined to have repercussions on the entire new DC Universe.
The trailer arriving during Comic-Con should offer the first concrete taste of the series' atmosphere and style.
