After more than thirty years, the legendary Jessica Rabbit is ready to return to the big screen, this time in the flesh. Gary K. Wolf, author of the novel Who Censored Roger Rabbit? and creator of the Toontown universe, has reacquired the rights to his characters and is working on a new film project dedicated entirely to the famous femme fatale.

Based on the book Jessica Rabbit: XERIOUS Business, the film will mark a true rebirth of the character, with a more adult and modern tone. After years under Disney's control, Wolf has confirmed that he now has "full creative freedom" to bring his protagonists back to life according to his original vision, which is bolder and more satirical than the version seen in Robert Zemeckis's 1988 cult film Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

One of animation's most controversial and sensual characters

Jessica Rabbit, immortalized in the original by the voice of Kathleen Turner (Amy Irving for singing and Paila Pavese in Italy), has always been a symbol of sensuality and independence, capable of shaking up the conventions of animated cinema. The new film promises to restore that provocative charm that Disney had tried to tone down over time, even in theme parks.

Wolf aims high: the film must be "at least as good as the original" to win over new generations and overcome the skepticism of long-time fans. A return that we imagine is highly anticipated, for one of the most magnetic and controversial characters in the (animated) history of cinema.
