Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford's Return Surprises Everyone

Harrison Ford returns as Indiana Jones, but without the need for a new film. Disney has chosen the actor's likeness as the model for the new Audio-Animatronic dedicated to the archaeologist, star of Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, one of the upcoming attractions at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The unique aspect of this operation is precisely this: for the first time, the animatronic Indiana Jones will be created directly using Ford as a reference. The actor confirmed the news during D23, even joking about his character's proverbial fear of snakes.
Indy's Return Comes to Animal Kingdom
The new attraction will occupy the space left by Dinosaur and will offer an unprecedented adventure set in an ancient Mayan temple. At the center of the story will be a gigantic creature linked to local mythology, destined to bring Indy face-to-face with one of his most famous fears. For Ford, this is a significant return after Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which in 2023 marked his last cinematic appearance in the role.
Disney thus seems to have found a way to continue using the image of Indiana Jones without necessarily reopening the cinematic chapter. Ford's likeness will remain physically linked to the new attraction, transforming this return into something more than a simple nostalgic reference.
