Terminator 7: Linda Hamilton's Reaction Stuns Everyone
The director has revealed his intention to develop a new story

Linda Hamilton discovered during an interview that James Cameron is working on a new Terminator. The actress's reaction, who played Sarah Connor in the saga, was immediate: a laugh and a few words, "I'm out."
The conversation took place during the promotion of Trust Me, I'm a Doctor. Hamilton said she was surprised by the prospect of another chapter, especially in light of the results of the last attempt to relaunch the series. Not to mention the absurd confusion of temporal games and narrative resets that have significantly tangled the creative path.
The past is no longer enough to relaunch the franchise

The reference is obviously (but not only) to Terminator: Dark Fate, released in 2019. The film brought the actress and Arnold Schwarzenegger back to the saga, but without achieving the hoped-for commercial success. The actress nevertheless wished the new production well, seriously implying that she does not want to participate in the project. For his part, Cameron is looking beyond the historical characters. The director has anticipated his intention to develop a new story, without bringing Sarah Connor and John Connor back to the center. Schwarzenegger is also not expected to be involved.
The challenge primarily concerns the relationship with artificial intelligence, a theme that has lost some of its futuristic dimension to enter everyday reality. Cameron wants to find a perspective capable of surprising again, avoiding re-proposing already exploited schemes. The filmmaker cited Alien: Earth as an example of a production still linked to previous works. For the new Terminator, currently in the writing phase, the goal is a clearer break (almost inevitable) with the past.
