Horizon Hunters Gathering Announces Second Playtest
Featuring two new hunters, a story episode, and an unreleased region
PlayStation and Guerrilla Games announce the second playtest for Horizon Hunters Gathering, the multiplayer spinoff of the Horizon franchise. You can find all information about it in this article. Compared to the previous playtest, additional content has been introduced: 2 new hunters, joining the three already available (which have also been improved), an unreleased region, a story episode, a new difficulty, and the ability to play alongside NPC companions.
What's New in the Second Playtest
- The two characters: the smuggler Ensa and the spy Shadow join Rem, Sun, and Axle.
- The region: Breakers’ Bounty is an area characterized by a dense jungle bordering a desert, joining Devil’s Thirst.
- The episode: a chapter of the Horizon Hunters Gathering story, where players must save the Ashwater Valley from a horde of Machines.
- The difficulty: two experiences offered in the first playtest return with new challenges.
- The gameplay: training modules help players get familiar with the game. Those who prefer to play solo can be accompanied by two NPC characters.

When the Second Playtest Takes Place
The second playtest for Horizon Hunters Gathering will take place from May 22nd to May 25th. This closed test will be conducted on a beta build of the game, so the content should be considered a work in progress. The platforms are PlayStation 5 and PC: to participate, it is necessary to sign up for the PlayStation Beta Program.
