Apple TV today released the trailer for the second season of Hijack, the thriller starring and executive produced by Idris Elba. Created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith, the series will return on January 14, 2026 with the first of 8 episodes, followed by a weekly release until March 4.

In the new chapter, the tension shifts to a Berlin subway train, taken hostage along with its passengers. At the center of the crisis is once again Sam Nelson, played by Elba, forced to navigate delicate decisions and a growing danger that threatens hundreds of lives.

Produced by 60Forty Films and Idiotlamp Productions, the second season sees the return of Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi, joined by actors such as Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams, and Christiane Paul. Jim Field Smith also returns as lead director.

Since its debut, Hijack has established itself as one of Apple TV's most-watched series, captivating audiences and critics alike, earning Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and entering the Top 10 Nielsen Streaming Originals. Elba's role has been described as “charismatic” and the series called “tense and gripping”.
