Many dishonest channels are trying to profit at Rockstar's expense

If you're a regular social media user, you've probably come across some videos that are casually passed off as leaks for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. If you haven't, just take a look on YouTube, search for something like "GTA 6 new video" and a world of fake gameplay footage will open up before you. The trained eye of a gamer can see the rot for what it is, but not everyone has the necessary familiarity to make the proper distinctions.
When fake videos get millions of views
Part of the problem lies upstream, because YouTube probably doesn't do enough to inhibit certain initiatives. The real point of the matter, however, is that fake videos accumulate hundreds of thousands, if not even millions of views, and those who publish them are clearly trying to gain profit by deceiving users. Fortunately, not all creators of fake trailers get away with it.

The internet rebels against fakes
One of these creators, named Zap Actu GTA6, recently created an AI-generated fake GTA 6 leak that went viral (over 8 million views in 24 hours!). However, such resonance backfired on him, because the internet users who fell for the trick then lashed out at its creator. The person concerned then released a message of apology, in which he covers his head with ashes and speaks of an "experiment" to demonstrate how easy it is to deceive the public nowadays.
