Godzilla x Kong: Supernova - Wingard Promotes New Director
The director of Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire discusses the strengths of the MonsterVerse

Adam Wingard seems satisfied with Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, the new chapter in the MonsterVerse entrusted to Grant Sputore. The director of Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire commented on his colleague's work during an interview with The Direct, expressing confidence in the direction taken by the Legendary production.
Wingard explained that he had heard very good things about the result achieved by Sputore, without, however, letting his words weigh as a judgment based on having seen the work. The director also hoped that his successor could direct at least one more installment, so as to have the same creative space that was granted to him.
The Future of the MonsterVerse Lies in New Perspectives

After leaving the project to dedicate himself to Onslaught, an A24 production, Wingard does not rule out a possible return. However, he believes that one of the strengths of the MonsterVerse is precisely the possibility of entrusting the legendary creatures to directors with different sensibilities.
During the interview, he also cited Destoroyah as his favorite monster, fueling fan speculation about which creatures might enter the saga. However, this is not a confirmation of the character's presence in the new film. Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is expected in Italian cinemas on March 26, 2027. Dan Stevens will return as Trapper Beasley, joined by Kaitlyn Dever, Jack O'Connell, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Matthew Modine, Delroy Lindo, and Sam Neill in one of his last roles.
