Godzilla Minus Zero - Toho Announces New Film
The first film grossed over 7.6 billion yen domestically, with over 50 international awards

Following the global success of Godzilla Minus One, Toho has officially confirmed the return of director Takashi Yamazaki behind the camera for a new chapter in the celebrated franchise: Godzilla Minus Zero. The film, announced with a brief video teaser, will once again see Yamazaki involved not only in direction and screenwriting, but also in supervising the visual effects, a field in which he has already achieved historic recognition.
Toho thus celebrates a symbolic moment for Japanese cinema's most iconic monster. The previous chapter, Godzilla Minus One, grossed over 7.6 billion yen domestically and won more than 50 international awards, including the Oscar for Best Visual Effects: an unprecedented achievement for an Asian film.
The Return of the Atomic Monster
Godzilla Minus Zero promises to continue in that vein, exploring new narrative and visual nuances of the myth born in 1954. For Yamazaki, who directed a first film that nonetheless received some criticism, this is a confirmation of trust and vision.
In parallel, the director is already at work on Grandgear, an unknown Bad Robot production that will mark his English-language debut. For fans, all anticipation is focused on the titanic return of the nuclear monster, and this time we hope for a dubbing worthy of such a production.
