God of War – The Prime Video Series Takes Shape

The long-awaited series inspired by God of War, produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Prime Video, is beginning to take shape, and the first rumors about the characters promise a faithful and spectacular adaptation of the celebrated video game.

Set in the Norse world introduced in the 2018 installment, the production will bring to life the stories of Kratos and his son Atreus, as well as the intricate network of gods, heroes, and monsters that populate the Nine Realms. According to initial leaks, the cast will include figures clearly inspired by Odin, Thor, Baldur, and Freya, suggesting a fusion of events from God of War (2018) and Ragnarök (2022).

The Video Game Myth Comes to Life

Behind the series is an ambitious team: Amazon Studios, PlayStation Productions, and Santa Monica Studio are joining forces to bring a story of revenge, redemption, and fatherhood to the screen, maintaining the emotional and visual power of the original video game.

"God of War is an epic saga, centered on characters and their humanity," declared Vernon Sanders of Amazon Studios. The goal is to create a series capable of combining mythology, introspection, and visual spectacle, transforming Kratos into a new icon of the small screen. Filming is expected to begin soon, with a debut anticipated between late 2025 and early 2026.
