Extraction – The Tyler Rake Universe Lands in Korea
One of the most iconic and physical actors in Asian action cinema has been chosen

The Tyler Rake universe is expanding. After two record-breaking chapters with Chris Hemsworth, Netflix is preparing a spin-off set in South Korea titled Extraction: Taigo. The protagonist will be Ma Dong-seok, star of Train to Busan and Eternals, one of the most iconic and physical actors in Asian action cinema.
The project marks a turning point for the saga: no longer just Hollywood adrenaline, but a mix of Western pace and Korean intensity. Directing will be Lee Sang Yong, already behind the success of The Outlaws 2, while the screenplay is penned by Cha Woo Jin. Still shrouded in mystery, the story will follow a mercenary on a high-stakes rescue mission — perfect ground for Ma Dong-seok's devastating energy.

Alongside him will be Lee Jin Wook, beloved face from Squid Game and Sweet Home, confirming that Netflix is betting on a cast capable of captivating both Korean and international audiences. Filming began in October 2025 and will last until January 2026, with release scheduled for the second half of 2026.
After captivating millions of viewers with Squid Game and The Glory, Netflix continues to invest in the appeal of Korean creativity, pushing Tyler Rake in a new, explosive direction.
