Elden Ring - A FromSoftware Veteran Joins the Film

A casual chat about Dark Souls years later turned into a role in the Elden Ring film. Among the new faces in the project is Peter Serafinowicz, the British actor seen in Shaun of the Dead and the voice of Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, who is officially part of the production directed by Alex Garland.
For FromSoftware enthusiasts, this is far from an unknown name. Serafinowicz played Pate in Dark Souls II and lent his voice to numerous vocal effects for male protagonists in various titles from the Japanese studio, unknowingly becoming a constant presence for millions of players.
A Familiar Face for FromSoftware Fans

The actor recounted that it all started with a chance encounter with Garland in their agency's waiting room. The two began talking about their shared passion for Dark Souls, stayed in touch, and years later, that friendship transformed into a role in the film based on Elden Ring.
However, the character he will play remains top secret. Among the hypotheses advanced by the community is that of Loathsome Dung Eater (image above), one of the most disturbing antagonists of the video game, but at the moment there are no official confirmations.
Written and directed by Garland with the supervision of Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin, the film is expected to arrive in theaters in early March 2028. The cast also includes Kit Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Ben Whishaw, Nick Offerman, Jonathan Pryce, and Tom Burke.
