Down Cemetery Road - Apple TV+ Renews for Second Season
Star and executive producer Emma Thompson expressed enthusiasm for returning to the set

Apple TV+ has officially announced the renewal of "Down Cemetery Road", the critically acclaimed thriller starring Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson, based on the novel of the same name from the "Zoë Boehm" series by Mick Herron, winner of the CWA Diamond Dagger Award. Since its debut, the series has been celebrated as "one of the best thrillers of the decade", quickly earning a Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes thanks to its mix of corrosive humor, noir tension, and masterful performances.
Thompson, star and executive producer, expressed enthusiasm for returning to the set alongside screenwriter Morwenna Banks and co-star Wilson, calling the character of Zoë a "delightful punk avatar" she can't wait to portray again. Apple TV's creative director for Europe, Jay Hunt, highlighted the global success of the series and the audience's affection for the irreverent duo of Zoë and Sarah.
Second season for the investigative series

The new season will lead the two protagonists into an even darker investigation: after the mysterious death of a woman under a train, Zoë and Sarah will find themselves embroiled in the ruthless world of the black market for ancient artifacts, crossing paths with a serial killer determined to cover his tracks.
Produced by 60Forty Films, the series sees Banks as writer and executive producer alongside Thompson, Herron, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash. Börkur Sigthórsson ("Insomnia") is the lead director. "Down Cemetery Road" marks the second collaboration between Herron and Apple TV+ after the international success of Slow Horses, recently renewed for a seventh season.
