Divinity Will Be Better Than Baldur's Gate 3, Says Swen Vincke
New information on Larian Studios' upcoming RPG

Divinity could rightly be considered the biggest of all the new announcements at The Game Awards 2025: what else can be said about the new work from the creators of Baldur's Gate 3, arguably the most revered role-playing video game in many years? The first trailer and the ambitions of Larian Studios have certainly piqued the interest of fans, and if you are among those eagerly awaiting the game, know that we are about to raise your expectations even further.
New Information on Divinity
On the sidelines of the presentation, Larian boss Swen Vincke gave interviews, in which he spoke about the game (via Bloomberg). According to his words, Divinity will be a turn-based RPG with the addition of cooperative multiplayer, where we will find all the characteristics of Larian titles, but taken to the next level. For Vincke, Divinity will be much better than Baldur's Gate 3, also because it will use a game system designed specifically for video games, which will be more immediate than that of Dungeons & Dragons.
When Will Divinity Be Released?
Regarding development times, Vincke expressed the intention to accelerate compared to Baldur's Gate 3, whose creation took six years partly due to difficulties caused by the pandemic. The Larian boss indicates 3-4 years as the ideal development duration. So, when will Divinity arrive? Vincke explains that it is unlikely we will see it in 2026: the appointment is therefore postponed for more than a year. Like BG3, Divinity will also be launched on PC in an early access version.
