Concord will long be remembered as one of the biggest flops in video game industry history. Released in August 2024, despite numerous warning signs that foreshadowed the worst, this hero shooter was pulled after just two weeks, a disaster that engulfed its developer. If you don't remember it, well, lucky you for having erased it from your memory, but we explained what was wrong with it in our review.


Concord is back, or maybe not

A collective formed by three developers, known by the nicknames Red, open_wizard, and gwog, has succeeded in the feat of bringing Concord back to life (via Game Post). With extensive reverse engineering work on the game's code, a few days ago the three managed to launch Concord on a private server. So, will we be able to "entertain" ourselves with the unfortunate hero shooter again? Not a chance.

Keep in mind that the intellectual property of Concord is still in Sony's hands, and the Japanese company has not the slightest interest in bringing the project back into the spotlight. The aforementioned trio tried to share videos of their work on YouTube, but they were removed at Sony's request with a promptness that leaves no doubt. As far as we know, the project itself has not yet been hit with an official claim, but if it were to continue, we wouldn't be surprised if Sony resorted to stronger measures…
