Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Triumphs, Is Game of the Year 2025

The predictions were met: the highest honor among those awarded by The Game Awards 2025 went to the French studio Sandfall Interactive. Their Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an RPG that doesn't hide its admiration for the great Japanese works of the genre and throughout the year has garnered the enthusiasm of critics and audiences. Now comes the definitive consecration, with the Game of the Year award. 

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was considered the big favorite, even though other high-impact titles, such as Hollow Knight: Silksong or Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, were vying for the game of the year crown. Sandfall Interactive's breakout video game was the announced protagonist of The Game Awards, after having collected a record number of nominations, 12 in total.
