Black Phone 2: The Return of the "Grabber" in the Official Trailer
The plot picks up four years after the events of the first film, amidst revenge and new victims

Universal and Blumhouse have released the official trailer for Black Phone 2, the anticipated horror sequel directed by Scott Derrickson, arriving in Italian cinemas on October 16, 2025. After the success of the first chapter in 2021, which captivated audiences and critics with its blend of psychological tension and supernatural terror, the fearsome Grabber, played by Ethan Hawke, is ready to return from beyond the grave.
The plot picks up four years after the events of the original film. Finn (Mason Thames), now seventeen, still bears the scars of his captivity, while his fifteen-year-old rebellious and determined sister Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) begins to receive disturbing calls in her dreams through the mysterious “black phone”. The visions lead her to a winter camp, Alpine Lake, where three children are being haunted by a dark presence.
The dark presence returns from hell
More powerful than ever in death, the Grabber seeks not only new victims but also revenge, intertwining his curse with the history of the protagonists' family. Gwen and Finn will thus be forced to return to the nightmare, confronting a killer who has now transcended the boundaries between life and death.
Derrickson once again directs alongside screenwriter C. Robert Cargill, with Joe Hill as television producer and author of the original story. Judging by the first images, Black Phone 2 promises a chilling experience that blends dreamlike slasher atmospheres with the familial tension of the first film.
