Best Pancakes in the County – Discovering the thriller with Nic Cage
All in one night for a con artist, in a seemingly ordinary restaurant

Nicolas Cage returns to territories that are particularly congenial to him: tension, chaos, and violence ready to explode in a confined space. The first image has been released for Best Pancakes in the County, a new thriller starring him, which, even from the premise, promises a high-pressure night inside a secluded provincial diner.
The story unfolds over a single night, in a seemingly ordinary restaurant. Cage plays a fast-talking con artist with a troubled past, trapped in a situation that rapidly escalates into a deadly confrontation. No sudden explosions, but a growing and claustrophobic tension made of glances, silences, and bad decisions. The infamous “best pancakes in the county,” as the film ironically suggests, are the least dangerous item on the menu.
New thriller for Nic Cage

Alongside Cage are Shelley Hennig, in the role of a waitress who is anything but innocent, and Justin Long, whose character remains shrouded in mystery. This trio promises unpredictable dynamics and continuous power shifts. Ken Sanzel directs, having previously collaborated with Cage on Kill Chain, here reunited with the actor during a particularly successful period in his recent career. The film is currently in production in Arkansas.
Best Pancakes in the County aims to be a compact, gritty, and tense thriller that could once again confirm the artistic health of Nic Cage.
