New trailer reviews the highlights of the tactical management game
Publisher Dotemu has shared a new trailer for Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes, offering us a long overview of its gameplay. This video game, based on the famous science fiction television series, puts us in command of a space fleet fleeing the Twelve Colonies after the disaster. The only hope for these survivors is to reunite with the Battlestar Galactica, trying to survive the constant threat of the Cylons, humanity's exterminators.
Scattered Hopes Gameplay
Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is a tactical management game, whose gameplay is divided into two main phases: management and combat. During the first phase, it is obviously necessary to provide for all the fleet's needs, from setting up defenses to resource procurement. The community of fleeing survivors is quite heterogeneous, divided into factions: to keep it in check, it will be essential to make choices that may require sacrifices.
The time of the management phase is punctuated by various Cylon raids: a limited number of actions can be performed before the next attack, so it is necessary to carefully plan one's moves and arrive prepared for the clash, which marks the beginning of the second phase, that of combat. This is an asymmetrical experience: the Cylon forces will always be overwhelming.
Therefore, the purpose of battles is not to wipe out the entire enemy army, but rather to resist for the time necessary for a safe destination for escape to be calculated. Tactical combat takes place in real time, but the real-time pause allows you to stop the action and assign commands to your units. At the end of hostilities, upgrades are acquired for future battles.

Where and When Scattered Hopes Releases
Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is developed by Alt Shift, a Montpellier studio that previously explored space tactics with Crying Suns. This video game will be released within the first quarter of 2026: you can take part in the escape from the Cylons on PC, via Steam and GOG.
