Batman in the new DCU - First clues about The Brave and the Bold
Among the names in the running to play the superhero, one in particular continues to circulate insistently
With the new DC Universe led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, the biggest question is who will wear the famous mask of the Dark Knight in The Brave and the Bold. After the iconic interpretations by Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Robert Pattinson, fans are eager to know the new face of Bruce Wayne.
In an interview, Gunn confirmed that there is no official actor yet, but he already has some names at the top of his list, as happened with David Corenswet for Superman. "I have ideas about actors who could play Batman. But thorough auditions are needed, the whole process," he explained.
A new face for a new superhero
Among the most discussed names by the public are Alan Ritchson (Reacher) and Jensen Ackles (Supernatural), while the name of Brandon Sklenar, star of the series 1923, is circulating more and more often. With some ironic statements, Gunn himself fueled suspicions without confirming anything, saying he was very satisfied with the progress in script development. Andy Muschietti (The Flash) could be directing, but an official announcement is still missing.
The Brave and the Bold will be crucial for the new DCU: the story, inspired by Grant Morrison's comics, will introduce Damian Wayne, Bruce's son and the new Robin, promising action, family conflicts, and an unprecedented Batman on the big screen.
