Avowed Arrives on PS5 for Anniversary

Avowed, developed by Obsidian, debuted on PC and Xbox Series X/S last February: it was certainly one of the last major exclusives for Microsoft, as we well know that Redmond's policy is now to release practically all products on competing platforms, sooner or later.

For Avowed, the occasion for its PS5 launch is precisely its Anniversary: the developers have announced that the game will debut on PS5 on February 17th. In conjunction with this new release, an update for the game will also be released for all platforms.

Avowed: The Anniversary Update

Avowed's February 17th update will introduce new playable races, including the Dwarf, and a new weapon type. Additionally, the New Game+ mode will be introduced: after finishing the game, it will be possible to restart it from the beginning at an increased difficulty, retaining equipment but starting from level 1.

"It was a big job and something difficult to implement, especially considering Avowed's Parkour system and combat mechanics and all the weapon types and things like that present in the game - explains Dimitri Berman, Obsidian's veteran Character Artist - The new races have different shapes and sizes: it's a unique gameplay experience when you play with each of these in a first-person game. So it's something new to explore in Avowed."
