Animal Crossing: New Horizons Releases on Switch 2 and Gets an Update

Released in 2020 on the first Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons achieved incredible success: the title has sold over 48 million copies (on Switch, it's second only to the mighty Mario Kart 8) and had the satisfaction of becoming the best-selling retail game of all time in Japan. Its arrival on Nintendo's new console seems inevitable and will happen early next year.

When the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Releases

Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be released as the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on January 15, 2025. Naturally, on the new console, the game will receive several technical improvements, most notably an increase in resolution to 4K, but that's not all: on the same day, New Horizons will update to version 3.0. This free update, available on all consoles, will introduce several new contents and collaborations with Zelda and Splatoon: you can find the details in the trailer below.

How Much the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Costs

On Nintendo's official website, Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is not yet available for pre-order, but the indicated price is €64.99.
