Starfield Arrives on PS5: All the News from the Game-Changing Update
An update that marks a new phase!

The universe of Starfield is preparing to expand even further. From April 7, the game will also be available on PlayStation 5, accompanied by an update that extensively intervenes on the overall experience. During a virtual presentation we attended, Bethesda Game Studios illustrated the upcoming content, clarifying how this transition represents a turning point for the project.
Starfield: The PS5 Debut and Technical Innovations
The new version integrates some specific features of the Sony hardware, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. On the PlayStation 5 Pro version, the option to choose between a performance-oriented mode and a visual fidelity mode is also introduced.
The release on a new platform is part of a continuous update path that began after the 2023 launch, with the aim of making the game more accessible to new users and, at the same time, more articulated for those already within the Settled Systems.
Terran Armada, a New Narrative Line
The main content of the update is Terran Armada, an expansion that introduces a new sequence of missions. The plot unfolds through unprecedented characters, settings, adventures, and enemies. The novelty revolves around a robotic threat that directly involves the future of humanity in space.
The expansion redefines the narrative context in which the player moves, expanding interaction possibilities and rewards linked to progression.

Free Lanes Changes the Way You Travel
Alongside the DLC comes Free Lanes, a free update that addresses one of the most discussed aspects of the experience. A mode is introduced that allows travel between planets within the same star system without interruptions, transforming the journey into an active moment, punctuated by encounters and activities.
This change has a direct impact on the game's pace, restoring centrality to the ship and the time spent with the crew, and making travel an integral part of exploration.

New Systems, Resources, and Content in Starfield for PS5
The update also expands the variety of the game world. New explorable areas, events, and dungeons are added, along with greater diversification of encounters. A new resource, X-Tech, is introduced, used to improve equipment and ship components.
Enemies also change, with the introduction of modifiers that influence their resistance and behavior. Other new features include a ground vehicle, outpost updates with shared management systems, new crew members, and much more.
Trackers Alliance and Additional Content
Post-launch support also continues with the expansion of activities related to the Trackers Alliance. New missions dedicated to the role of bounty hunter are introduced, with additional objectives and rewards.
These contents are part of a broader strategy that aims to extend the possibilities offered by the game over time, progressively enriching the available activities.
An Update That Marks a New Phase for Starfield
According to what emerged during the presentation, the upcoming update is the most substantial since the title's publication. The goal is to consolidate Starfield into a more complete form, capable of welcoming new players and, at the same time, offering concrete reasons to return to explore the Settled Systems.
