World Breaker – First Trailer for the SF Horror with Milla Jovovich

World Breaker has just unveiled its first trailer, and Milla Jovovich returns to do what she does best: survive when the world falls apart. Monsters, a broken family, a remote island, and impossible choices define this new sci-fi action horror that promises flames, tension, and creatures with no intention of negotiating.

The story is set on an island seemingly safe from global chaos. Here lives Willa, a girl raised to train for survival while her mother, played by Jovovich, fights on the front lines against the fearsome Breakers. Her father is Luke Evans, a war-scarred veteran with many scars, and the family balance holds as long as the conflict remains distant. When a child arrives on the island, the past returns to claim its price, and there is no longer anywhere to hide.

A Dark Threat to Humanity

The trailer shows imposing and unsettling Breakers, never fully explained, making the threat even more disturbing, although they might bring to mind the creatures from the Spierig brothers' Daybreakers. The action is present but gives way to tense silences and a dark, almost suffocating atmosphere. Images that suggest one clear thing: this time, fleeing is not an option.

Jovovich doesn't just play a warrior but a tired, vulnerable mother, forced to choose between protection and sacrifice. The heart of the film is Willa, played by Billie Boullet, called to decide who to become in a burning world. Directed by Brad Anderson (TV series Invasion, Session 9, and the remarkable The Machinist), World Breaker will be released in US cinemas in late January 2026; a date for our region has not yet been set.
