We return to Team Ninja's dark fantasy China
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, released in 2023, is a dark fantasy action/RPG set in the China of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, drawing heavily from the soulslike genre, although that label feels a bit restrictive for it. It's a work that boasts original, dynamic, and spectacular gameplay, despite showing a few too many flaws, such as the recycling of some assets: we explain it thoroughly in our Wo Long review.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember
Publisher Koei Tecmo has announced the sequel Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember. Developed by the Japanese studio Team Ninja, this video game will once again take us to the Three Kingdoms period, where we will again have to beat demons with oriental martial arts. The announcement trailer anticipates some of the game's features: vast battlefields, a taste for spectacle, and also references to the figure of the resurrecting phoenix.
When and Where Wo Long 2 Will Be Released
The launch window for Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is scheduled for early 2027. You will find Team Ninja's latest effort on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC (Steam, Xbox PC), and from day one on the subscription service Game Pass.
