Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 Releases October 14 — Mick Gordon Scores Soundtrack

Auroch Digital and Big Fan Games today released a new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, showcasing the first images of the game's main antagonist, Vashtorr, the demonic demigod of inventors, engineers, scientists, and artisans, and revealed its release date: October 14 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The studios also announced that the game will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 shortly after its debut on other platforms.

The trailer, which accompanies the launch date announcement, also offers the first listen to an original music track composed specifically for the game by guest composer Mick Gordon (DOOM 2016, DOOM Eternal, Wolfenstein: The New Order), providing the soundtrack for the debut of Vashtorr the Arkifane and his rampant inventiveness.

In the story, playable characters — Ultramarine Malum Caedo and Battle Sister Nyra Veyrath — travel to an isolated star system to investigate an increase in Chaos activity, ultimately clashing with Vashtorr's wrath. The demigod awakens a massive demonic machine at the planet's core, causing a catastrophic explosion that destroys much of the Imperial fleet. Malum and Nyra must then race from world to world to eradicate the corruption fueling Vashtorr's plans, in an attempt to banish the demigod to the Warp.

The game picks up the story where the first chapter left off (you can read our review here), bringing fans the same frantic, bullet-ridden action and an even wider selection of weapons. Players will face familiar foes such as the mischievous plague-spreading Nurglings and Chaos Cultists, along with new threats: the ferocious Bloodletters and their thirsty Juggernauts are just the beginning of the terrors that await in the Emperor's endless war.
