Publisher Lyrical Games and developer One More Level have shared a new trailer for Valor Mortis, offering us a look at the game's main aspects. This video game is a first-person soulslike, set during the Napoleonic Wars. History as we know it is altered by a mysterious epidemic, which kills most soldiers and transforms all others into bloodthirsty monsters.

Valor Mortis Features

The protagonist, William, is an English soldier who decided to fight in Napoleon's army, was killed on the battlefield, and then resurrected to face the abominable beings that infest the world. The combat, though first-person, faithfully attempts to follow the tenets of the soulslike genre: light and heavy attacks, impact parries, dodges, and careful stamina management.

In addition to melee weapons, William can also wield firearms, as well as use special powers called Transmutation. Naturally, throughout the campaign, the protagonist will acquire new weapons and abilities, which will increase his offensive options; each tool can be upgraded in various ways with materials collected in the world. This world consists of battlefields, ruined villages, caves, catacombs, strongholds, laboratories, and so on.

When and Where Valor Mortis Releases
