Truxton Extreme: Shoot 'em up release date
A genre classic is revived in this sequel
The Truxton scrolling shooter series is being resurrected after more than thirty years of absence: a third installment will be added to the first two chapters, released between 1988 and 1992, overseen by Japanese game designer Masahiro Yuge, who also worked on the originals. Yuge formed a studio called Tatsujin (which is the game's Japanese name) to create a chapter that paid homage to the originals, considered true cult classics by shoot 'em up fans.
Where and when Truxton Extreme will be released
The new game is called Truxton Extreme and you can see it in action in the trailer shared by publisher Clear River Games. If you are also among the fans of spaceship shooters, know that the release date is set for July 30, 2026. You will find Truxton Extreme on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC (Steam, GOG).
