The Plot of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined

The story remains anchored to the island of Estard, the only seemingly existing land, and follows the protagonist's journey alongside Kiefer and Maribel. The discovery of stone fragments and ancient maps paves the way for the discovery of a lost world, made of vanished continents and eras sealed in time. The narrative structure has been streamlined and reorganized to ensure smoother progression, but it continues to unfold through broad narrative arcs, linked to the individual territories to be brought back to life.

There are also more controversial choices, such as the removal of some areas and content present in the original edition. This decision was made during development, in line with the creative direction of the series, designed to contain the overall structure and focus the experience on a more compact narrative.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, the New Features

On the gameplay front, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined offers completely renewed graphics, built around diorama-style environments that accentuate the fairytale atmosphere of the game world. The turn-based combat system has been revised with various modifications, while the vocation system is expanded with a new mechanic that allows two vocations to be combined simultaneously.
